Why I love the Brits so much...

Saw this arriving at baggage claim at Heathrow a couple of hours ago. Just...well, so damned civilized! (or is that "civilised"?)

I notice they have stopped being specific about _which_ distruption they are apologising for. Do you think they have a storeroom somewhere full of hundreds of these signs. Maybe I could get hold of a few and just leave them in restaurants and football stadiums...

Oh, and don't worry about the spelling. Literacy rates are down over here anyway.

At least they didn't say, "One would like to apologise ..."

As a Brit living in Hong Kong, I would also like to add two points:

1) Hong Kong, as a ex British colony, has thousands of signs like this, only worse. Why don't you come visit HK to check this out for yourself? There are many thousands of people here in dire need of your skills - trust me.

2) Also, when you have flown to a few airports, you realise just how dreadful Heathrow is, so it's not surprising that you saw a sign of this nature.

Hi David
I've just finished reading GTD British version (being a Brit) and logged on to look at your website. I'd say about the Heathrow sign, that these are a source of frustration not pride to most Brits. It probably means someone somewhere failed to get something done!

Great book. Midway trying to implement it. Time-starved working single mum - hard to find long chunks of time where I can plough through my backlogged "stuff". But hopefully, I will get to "mind like water" stage.

Thanks for a great book. I wish I'd discovered your techniques years ago.

Just to mirror what Chris from Hong kong said.

I'm an ex-pat in Beijing, your skills are very much needed in China, come on over!

I am British - and I just checked Chambers 21st Century Dictionary my favourite reference for World English.

It agrees with me that both the 'z' and the 's' spelling are acceptable. Many Brits prefer to write 'civilised', but 'civilized' is fine.

I get annoyed with Noah Webster when Americans criticise me for using 's'.
