Another Guardian piece
David McCandless, who writes a tech column for the Guardian, just published a piece on his experience with GTD. Seems we're heating up in the UK...

GTD is certainly prominent on the radar.
I came to it from a couple of podcasts justs a few weeks ago and am just getting into the books to learn the methodology.
I have to say that I am enthused with the possibilities of including GTD with the mindapping that I do.
I had already begun recording task I had to look after on a mindmap and the very next action fits so well with this.
Here's to growing the dream.

Hi,
It certainly is.
I read your book almost a year ago and I've never looked back. In fact I've pushed it on my co workers, mainly because I couldnt stand working with them in my new organised manner.
One question, I can't find anywhere in the UK to download the audio book. lots of us sites have it, but wont let me buy it without a us address.
regards

David here - Curtis, sorry about that, I wasn't aware of the lack of audio in the UK. I'll check with our Associate in London, James Daniel, and see if he knows of a workaround. Unfortunately that's all up to the deals the publisher(s) have struck with the parties involved.

@curtis
You might get the audiobook in the iTunes Music Store (iTMS). I downloaded it at the german iTMS und I guess, it's availabe at the english iTMS too.

Curtis, check Audible.com; that's where I picked up the audio. If you can't find it there, let me know and I'll see if I can find another avenue for you to check.

I found out about your system through lifehacker.com and am reading the book now BUT I've been able to figure out the basics of the sytem and have been using it for the last two weeks and what a difference! I've tried a lot of systems but this one is so simple, fast and easy and useful it works.

GTD is certainly getting some coverage in the UK, but it's suprisingly difficult to get the book at the moment. I read the Guardian article last week and tried to get the book but...Amazon UK is out of stock, as are most of the other online stores; iTunes UK doesn't have the audio book; Audible.com can't sell to me in the UK and audible.co.uk doesn't have the book; Amazon.com has digital versions for both the Adobe and Microsoft readers, but they can't sell to the UK and Amazon.co.uk doesn't carry either...you get the picture. Eventually I resorted to the low-tech order-from-my-local-bookshop. Apparently I'll have the book in around 10 days. Can't wait!

Yes David you are getting lots more coverage here in the UK. You book was recommended to me by a friend and already there are another 4 people in the office who have read the book and are "converts" to the GTD way.
Will you be coming to the UK any time soon to give seminars yourself?

I also had problems getting the book, but finally got it from Waterstones in High St Ken, London - they still had a few copies a couple of days ago. Loving the book - it's transforming my life.

David
I have been into GTD for the past 3-4 years, my wife put me onto you after you gave her a group training session at Goldman.
I have been trying to get the audio book for the past 3-4 years too. Not available to the UK market through any (legal)avenue as far as I can tell.
Can you help?

You should be able to get it (the hard copy) from abebooks.co.uk if Amazon is proving tardy. Funnily enough the cheapest version on abebooks.co.uk arrived with an Illinois postmark...
David, sounds like your agent/publisher/whoever needs to get your British marketing and distribution off the "Someday/Maybe" and into "Projects"!
