Taking the rocks out of your shoes

Anyone got a filing cabinet that repels you more than attracts you? Check out my new Coach's Corner article about the world of filing cabinets.

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for your article Taking the rocks out of your shoes. We've just moved into a new house and got the good filing cabinet. But I can't for the life of me figure out if my wife and I should intermingle our files or not. There is some stuff that is clearly hers or mine, but all the housey things like utilities and phone and softwares etc blur the lines. What are your thoughts?

Best,

Hi Michael,

Great question. We use our shared filing cabinet(which lives in John's home office) for the things we might both need to access: utilities, taxes, financial statements, etc. Anything that's just for me is in my filing cabinet in my home office so I can easily access it. If I have something for the shared filing cabinet I walk into his office and file it myself.

Does that help?

Excellent, thanks for the reply. Not sharing makes sense.
