iPhone to Outlook - one less choice

For those of you who have followed by journey with GTD & iPhone, at one time I tried and mentioned KeyTasks by Chapura for synching to Outlook. They just discontinued it. So pull back your horses on that one, it's dead.

As best I can tell, Toodledo seems to be the only option for iPhone>Outlook synching, unless the new iPhone 3.0 OS has brought something new to the table around all that.

I use the Plaxo toolbar to sync from Outlook to Google, then I use Google Sync to sync from Google to iPhone here

I hope that helps.

It is discontinued, but they are going to keep the service until June 2010 - that is what the site says.

On June 20, 2009, KeyTasks and KeyNotes for iPhone OS were officially discontinued. This was a business decision business based on the conditions of the market.

"No updates will be made to these products; however, they will be supported and the synchronization server will be available until June 20, 2010"

Pocket informant seems to sync via gmail and toodledoo right now, and a direct sync w Outlook is due later this year.

Might make me switch to iPhone, but at the moment I keep WM.

After using the iPhone for a week or so, it has dawned on me that it is positively terrible for business. iTunes doesn't sync documents or fully sync Outlook (there is no tasks application.) Most good applications exist on the Mac side and, of those that do, most aren't that great. I'm noticing several business applications providers dropping off the iPhone list like those below and those that do provide them - like PocketInformant - tell me some basics are impossible because Apple refuses to provide developers with a full API. The more I use it, the more I realize it's good for playing media and viewing some web sites easily. Otherwise it suffers from having too many mediocre apps and Apple's desire to and profit from everything it does. Seriously considering switching back.

Imexchange I think it's cAlled syncs all my tasks in outlook. And you can filter by categories works effortlessly and shows all my @context. Can even capture in task and will sync back to desktop. But u need to have connectivity

I moved all of my lists back into Outlook a couple of weeks ago so that I could use Toodledo to sync my lists between my work desktop, iPhone and laptop. You need to install the Toodledo sync app on each PC that you want to use but I haven't found anything with the same ease of use that will sync over multiple machines. Working fine so far.

Thanks to Anonymous for recommending iMExchange! I have downloaded it and it is perfect for what I need. It is much better than KeyTasks, which was very cranky for me, and required me to run it on my PC all the time.

It is a very good app!

Thanks for the info! I was using Chapura Tasks and Notes and it was terrible for large number of tasks (ca. 600). The syncing to an offsite computer didn't make me very happy either. I got iMExchange and it's great. Sync with no problem in a few minutes to my 600 task. Fantastic. Much better interface and much more responsive than the Chapura product. Now I know why the discontinued Chapura.
