I have recently started a read/review folder and an action support folder. Everything in my action support folder has an associated task. Should the read/review folder be the same? What do you do with magazines? Should I have a task called read Fortune magazine?

Anything that takes longer than 2 minutes to read goes in my "Read and Review" bucket. The bucket itself is enough of a reminder; I don't need to put it on a list.

I figured that the system becomes too cumbersome for casual reading items like magazines. I agree that having them in the read/review is reminder enough. Unless there is an important article I want/need to read, I will keep it off my action list.
Thanks.

agreed...I have a read/review bucket. Sometimes when I am in between items I will flip through a magazine to find what I want to read, tear it out and recycle the rest of the magazine. It makes for a more manageable pile of articles.

What do you do with magazines?
I have a designated spot on my desk for my read/review. There is a magazine holder for magazines, papers etc. and about 8 inches of space for physical books and my kindle. If I have stuff that doesn't fit I know I need to spend some time doing reading and review or I need to cull out some stuff to make room so I'll do a quick is this still relevant check of the pile. Keeping it contained by space forces me to keep it current.
None of it ever goes on any action list.

If something like a book or Kindle does not fit in your designated container, you could also just put the reminder on a note and put the note in your read and review tray. There's a stacking tray above my read and review tray, so I don't have room for books of any considerable thickness.

I do not think so. I like and use the Oogiem method.

If it's a critical read, yes.
If it's a nice to read, no.
