Can anyone recommend some good software for project planning and management on the Palm?
I'd like to have something which can show me where I am in tasks and the whole project, and also for that particular day what work is 'supposed' to be going on for a project and how long left until the next 'phase' and so on.
At the moment I drop in the different parts of my projects as untimed events in the Date book, but the number of projects means that it clogs the date screen up - I want to obviously keep the calender sleek to look at so will use it as per GTD.
I need this project software for bigger thinking on my projects etc - I'm trialing Shadowplan at the moment but not very convinced that it's going to suit my needs...
Thanks.

Hello there,
Natara Software makes three excellent products that you might want to check out.
First there's Bonsai. This is a task list/outliner style software that has the ability to use progress bars. So as a child task is completed, the parent task, or project, shows how far you've progressed. Excellent for very basic project management.
Second they have Project 2 (I think that's the name). This is a more robust project management software, that tracks tasks, costs, people, resources, and has a simple gantt chart built in. It is a stand alone product.
Third, they have Project (Again I think this is the name of it), which is a Palm version of MS Project -- and it syncs with the Desktop version.
Hope that helps,
Kathy

Thanks for your tip there.
I've had a quick look at Project@hand2 which looks quite good - have you or anyone else used this? If so, what do you think?
Thanks.

Deckard: I did use Project@Hand2 briefly when it first came out. I was planning to write a review on it but was sidetracked and never got it done.
I like the software quite a bit, especially since it doesn't require MS Project (which I consider clunky and complicated). In any case, at the time I was trying it, the Project@Hand2 application ended up being a bit too complicated for my needs. If I remember right, I could only view tasks/actions per project, and I couldn't compare project timelines side-by-side to see if I was overcommitted. I was also exploring the use of plain vanilla Palm apps for my GTD lists, and found that for me, those worked the best in the end.
I do still use Bonsai for reference lists -- gift lists, kids friends, medical histories, etc. -- but my primary GTD lists are in the Palm todo and Memo apps. And of course I use their DayNotez application for both business and personal journaling. I've been a fan of that one for years.
Mardo: I don't remember offhand if they have Mac DT versions, but they do have Palm versions that can be downloaded and installed from a Mac.

Try ShadowPlan. (www.codejedi.com) Long-time user...I love it!

I agree - Shadowplan is the best.
There are trial versions of all programs - download and compare yourself.

I've never used this, but I know there is a fairly robust (and somewhat pricey) Mac solution. There's a desktop version and a Palm version which you can sync. Here's the link: <http://www.aecsoft.com/products/desktop/fasttrack/newfeatures/fts8mac.asp>

I tried them all, and shadow is the most powerful. I also enjoy using mindmanager for planing and strategizing. :P
