View Full Version : Can I replace the battery in my Palm?

My Palm 505 doesn't hold a charge for very long, so I'm assuming the rechargeable battery has gone bad. The manual says nothing about this but from what I've read at the Palm site it sounds like I have to send it to them and pay their $125 flat rate repair bill... and evidently not get my own Palm back but one that is "factory reconditioned." The $125 seems a bit extreme for a battery (plus shipping?) and I would prefer to have my own unit back. Has anyone had experience with this? Is it possible to replace the battery myself? Could I buy a battery at Batteries Plus? or online?

I think you should consider PDA upgrade (Zire 31 or Tungsten E).

Try these guys: http://www.gethightech.com/ They carry all sorts of parts and the repair prices seem reasonable.
