Best Travel Book Light?

Looking for a compact but powerful portable/foldable book light to use on business travel. I have one but the light output is just too anemic. How about the itty-bitty book light?

Anyone got one that throws out a lot of light but is small, compact, easily portable? For use in airplanes, hotel rooms, etc.

A few weeks ago I searched Amazon & came up with a great book light. It's got a bendable neck & uses 3 LEDs to generate a bright white light. If you can't find it, please let me know & I'll try to dig up further details.

This is it. About the only negative, which could be considered a positive, I've come across is that it's very bright. For me, I like it this way.

My brother got a pair of nifty Craftsman brand glasses with no lenses for my SIL to read. There is a little bulb on each side that you can aim. I tried them out and have been meaning to get a pair. I see a trip to Sears coming on... :)

Sharper Image sells a folding booklight that works great and can also be used as a standalone little table lamb in the motel room when you travel. It lights up automatically when you open it and comes with a travel case.

My favorite (and I've tried just about all of them) is the Light Wedge

It is different from other lights out there, in that you place it on your page (it is a flat piece of glass that is illuminated from within somehow) and it lights up your page, making for very little "extra" light -- great for reading at night in the car (while someone else is driving) or in bed while your partner sleeps.

I've had mine for several years, and have been very happy with it. It also comes in a smaller, lighter, paperback size, if that's your format of choice.

Just happened to run across this thread. I'll give you my recommendation in case whatever solution you've found is not satisfactory.

Having owned a variety of book lights, my vote is on the Phorm Light Voyager. It's the best light I've owned, although some find it a little heavy when loaded with batteries (I didn't see it as a problem myself). Get an AC/DC adapter and you won't need to worry about weight or batteries.

I'm a fan of the Light Wedge as well. It spills light only on to the page, unlike other book lights that are hard to focus just on a page.
