GTD without Outlook 2000+

I am a great admirer of the GTD principle but i can not
use the GTD addin at work. :-(
The option to put macro's
in Outlook is prohibited.

Has anybody a workaround or solution for this problem like:

- GTD standalone version
- Flowchart and example to use GTD principle in Outlook by hand
- Others?

It isn't the same as the add-in, but it explains some of the best ways to set up Outlook for GTD. It's well worth the $10!

I bought the .pdf file last week. It has a lot of good tips. Some of them I had found already or figured out myself. It's sad that, as powerful as Outlook is, most of the really useful features are so poorly documented.

It's been a while since I've used OL98, but I think so. (The PDF is geared specifically for OL2000, but most of the stuff probably works in 98 as well.) Most of the tips have to do with setting up categories, setting up folders, setting up a calendar view, using speed keys, etc. There are a couple of explanations of why in addition to how. There are also some good suggestions on what NOT to do: the parts of OL that are more trouble than they're worth. Good stuff. And it used to be $30, so if you're hedging on $10, tell yourself that you're getting a bargain. (I gladly paid $30, and I'd do it again.)

I've tried using Outlook several times in the past, and I always end up going back to Outlook Express. I've implemented GTD in every facet of my business and my life except for email because OE just isn't robust enough.

My problems with Outlook (I have Outlook 2000) stem from the fact that I have several email addresses I have to keep up with and Outlook can't seem to reply to an email using the same address it was sent to, and the last thing I need to do is inadvertantly reply to an email from the wrong account. So I just don't use it.

I've heard that Outlook 2003 works better than 2000. Does it handle multiple email accounts better?

Outlook 2003 replies using the account the email was sent to. If an email come in from my work account, it goes out on that account. If it comes in on my gmail account, it goes out on that one. This is essential since I am signed up to several mailing lists under my gmail account and the replies are rejected unless they come from that return address.

Meanwhile i bought the PDF, in it were some good hints some of them
which i had already put in my Outlook.

Pitty there is no standalone GTD util wich can be used outside of outlook.
I think there are company's like mine which do not allow macro's because of the threat of virus'
Although i realize that the power of the addin is for example the possiblity to open a mail from the @action of tasks folder.
Outside of outlook that will be harder to do.

Anyway if anybody still had good suggestions i am eager to hear them.
