Recently, I've found a way to make the weekly review less overwhelming. Anytime I'm waiting, e.g. doctor's office, waiting for a friend to arrive, I pull out my Palm and do a review. I've been able to capture loose ideas, and set next actions effectively on a continuous basis throughout the week. That way, the weekly review doesn't seem so daunting and I feel more current on projects during the week.

Over time, I've adopted a daily "mini" review first thing each day and have found my weekly review time is not only shorter, but more productive as a result. Daily reviews generally take 10-5 minutes. I typically spend an hour on my weekly reviews, down by 30-45 minutes from what it used to take.

I find this concept quite interesting.
What do you do, to assure that you do a WR?
Do you schedule your WR nevertheless?
How keep the WR-steps in correct order, i. e. do you have a checklist "WR"?

I’ve been trying to introduce a touch of Brian Tracy – I try to have a daily NA on hard landscape for all current projects so that I push as many of them forward as possible each day. This works particularly well where the NA is to make a phone call, write a short letter, or pick up something near the office. It has had huge benefits for me in personal projects that tend to have to make the most of snippets of time during the day.
This needs a daily mini review to make it work, but the results are tremendously satisfying and rewarding.

When I'm really busy, I can even do a WR in our Monday morning staff meeting. Sometimes you have to make do.

The review-while-waiting isn't systematic; it depends on how much time I have. I may check my task list and see where things stand. Or I might review yesterday and two days out to see if there are any loose ends that need to be captured. These time periods are 5-10 minutes. I do the weekly review regularly but the mini-reviews allow a jump start.
