I have heard different things about Office 2007's ability to improve one's productivity. Has anyone experienced increased efficiency with Word 2007? Before investing in Office 2007 I would like to know if its more popular applications are really that improved.

I have been using Word 2007 for almost a year. I was a beta tester.

If many of the documents you create or work on include graphics and require quite a bit of finishing (formating, graphical elements, and other visual configuration) then Word 2007 will make you significantly more productive.

There significant improvments inserting graphical elements using smart art and to formating pictures, and document themes.

If you primary use of Word is producing plain text documents then Word 2003 is sufficient.

I suggest that you download the 60 day trial of Office 2007 here:

For me any text editor (with optional spell checker) is sufficient for plain text documents. You get Notepad and WordPad with WinXP.
