Hope to find Software - works like the brain -

Does anyone know of a writing software program that works a little bit more like the brain. I want to be able to create links between different textfiles and topics in a natural way, so that i is represented in the same way as it is in my brain.

For an example if I have made the word "religion" a "topic-word" in my program, then I want to link all the information, like different texts, or parts of texts, or other sub-topics that I think should be linked to this topic in this particular case to the word religion. The subtopics then contains other links to other files or other topics. This means that some textfile might be represented from several different places, just depending on from what perspective I currently look from. Lets say I have a text on womens rights, and I want to link to this both from "religion" as well as from "politics".

In other words it will amost work like the folders system in windows, just that there should be an interface that helps to navigate more easily and to do searches, also want the textfiles to be able to contain links so that I can jump between different topics in a natural way, aswell as add new informations, and add "relations" ( or links) between different topics, or from one topic, to a text file, and then to other topics, or another text file.

Does anyone know of anything like this?

Sounds like a Wiki. On the Mac, VoodooPad is pretty much the definitive personal wiki. I'm not current on the PC choices, but there are many. Try a search for "personal wiki."

When you say "works like the brain" do you mean works like your brain or works similar to the software known as The Brain (http://www.thebrain.com/)?

If you have not yet come across The Brain software, then I think this is what you might be looking for.

I second Katherines recommendation to use a Wiki. Especially for this reason I also use a wiki-oftware. Sad enough this program is no longer supported by the vendor. So I have to change someday.

Once I looked for wiki programs and got the recommendation for http://tiddlywiki.com/.

I didn't mention, tiddlywiki runs nearly on all systems with a webbrowser.
