Due the abundance of information out there about "Getting Things Done" (GTD), David & Co. has responded with a web page that provides an official definition of this term: http://www.davidco.com/what_is_gtd.php

We are just starting with GTD and we want to know how effective GTD Fast CDs? Do you listen to those CDs often? Also, my wife is ER physician, so cannot really plan daily activities. Is there anyone with similar work situation using GTD? How do you do that?
Looking at getting the Treo 600. Any thoughts?
Does anyone know where I can get a pocket briefcase (levenger or equivalent) that holds 3x5 cards .... in the UK!
I am reading the book "Take BackYour Life" whichwas recommended byGTD to implement Outlook and GTD. There is discussion in the book on outling projects w/ due dates and using Excell or some kind of format to measure the progress. They call it Metrics. Does anyone have any suggestions on Outlining...
This is getting annoying and I'm hoping some folks here may have a solution. I'm running Outlook 2003 on both my home and work computers. I'm using a Pocket PC with ActiveSync hooked to both computers. Let's say I create a category on the work computer called TEST. That category is displayed...
I use Outlook tasks for all my projects and NAs. I often have project support material (time lines, various reference documents) for a given project. These are generally word or excel documents that are kept on our network. I usually need to review them during my weekly review. I'm trying to...
I've been meaning to write this up for a while (something else that should be on my lists :-), but given that Wiki's seem to come up every so often, I'm going to make a stab at it. It won't be complete, but might start some people thinking. If you need/want more detail, drop me a note...
I've briefly looked at AcroWiki and Note Studio (based on various posting here and at Yahoo forums) and I can't get my head around how to use them in a GTD system. Can anyone help me understand :?: Is it not too much work to use the special syntax to creat links etc? I can see from a reference...
I watched the video demonstration on using the GTD tool. However I am struggling to grasp what people to with email replies. Quite simply my Brain is trying to work Should I defer ? Should I delegate ? etc.. But on replies quite often I simply want to FILE IT. But assign it to a project,...
I'm upgrading to a Blackberry 7100 and will be syncing my calendar. I looked and mine goes back to September 2000. Not even sure if there is a way to purge/delete older items. I'm curious, do you just keep adding to your calendar or periodically delete old stuff? Jeff
I am curious if anyone has looked at Filemaker to set up a series of lists for GTD? This seems like a natural. I am only going to use a desktop/laptop and not a PDA -- I am also on a Mac, where the options for PIMs seem less.
Has anyone else had this problem? I used to be able to select the "as last viewed" option for having my Outlook Tasks in the Calender view expanded/collapsed. Now this option is grayed out and the action categories are all collapsed. Anyone know how I can solve this? Thanks in advance! ...
is there a way to tell outlook to assign a default category to every new note ? Thanks! Paul
This is my first post. After scoring the internet for about a year to overcome my email problems I finally found GTD. Started to use the addin, but with all the demos and forum posts I have read I cannot for the life of me see how people manage threads. EXAMPLE INBOX Intranet Design...
....what is so great about it? If you already have one (or more) email accounts, why would you need or want G-mail?
BrainStorm (at http://www.brainstormsw.com/) is a piece of software that was designed by someone who was an editor (of a PC magazine), a journalist and an advisor to an exhibition company. Too many things on his plate, needed a way to keep on top of it all. Added one more thing to his plate -...
For those of you who have had "Get a note-taking wallet on your task list" for the last half of a year, here's another option: http://www.paulasleather.com/leather-goods17.htm
Hi, I've bought the Outlook Add-in and I'm loving it. I'm wondering if there are any other add-ins for Outlook that work well with GTD? Or any Outlook macros that you find very useful? Thanks,
All, I use Outlook journal items extensively, and recently installed the GTD Outlook Addin. I want to extend the Addin's project construct to journal items. I created a new journal form with a 'project' text box. This allows me to assign journal items to projects, but without Addin features...
My briefcase was stolen out of my car this afternoon, which is by itself a truly distressing event. Since my briefcase also carried my PDA and a USB thumb drive with all kinds of work documents on it, it's even more disconcerting. But because I have security software on both, to be honest, the...
