Due the abundance of information out there about "Getting Things Done" (GTD), David & Co. has responded with a web page that provides an official definition of this term: http://www.davidco.com/what_is_gtd.php

Hi! I have a particular problem. I have several dozen linear projects that have several tasks and once I manually set the list in priority order, I simply have to process the "next action" for each project. Currently I use Toodledo, and Due Today on Android. Problem is, because of the...
I feel overwhelmed with maintaining my Outlook GTD system. For example, I track my projects with a .PROJECTS category in the task list. If I send and email regarding that project it automatically gets saved in my @Waiting For email folder. When I do that, should I move the task out of .PROJECTS...
I'm in the process of reevaluating software for GTD because i've decided to switch from android to the iphone. I already have an ipad. I know the standard which everything is compared to is Omnifocus but Omnifocuses' cloud part is weak. I want to be able to manage everything from my PC (windows 8)...
Has anyone tried a cloud app called Action Method? I cannot tell if its an app created for GTD, as a lot of the language on the website sounds very much like GTD. Just wonder if anyone has tried this software?
I'm considering plunking down the $119 for a live scribe pen, plus extra for paper, but was curious what other's experiences were in relation to GTD. I'm planning on mostly using it for meetings with clients where I'm acquiring a great deal of info that I then have to write up as marketing...
I'm making the switch to a new GTD system, from my old MyLifeOrganized system. I've decided write up this quest as a series of posts. Here's the first one, with the apps and what I think makes a good GTD app/system. I'm then going to review each shortlisted app in detail. ...
I am having a hard time finding Windows software (as opposed to a web-based application like Astrid or Toodledo) that can sync with my Google Task lists. I don't need anything very powerful, just something that can display all my Task Lists at once and allow me to move action items between lists. ...
I've been a long time user of RTM for my GTD system. I love it for my personal life, but find that I use a notebook a lot at work (Inbox/Notetaking), and would like to have a paper system for work, and use RTM for personal. The problem I have is that RTM is great with Tags, and my projects are...
I live in NYC without a car. I buy groceries weekly and walk home with my hands full (about 13 minutes walking time). Sometimes on the way home, I'm hit with good ideas, but it's a real pain to set down the bags and dig out my pen and paper to capture my thoughts. I was thinking about maybe...
I've recently started using pocket informant (synced to toodledo and google calendar) on my iPad and iPhone for my personal GTD (at work I'm an outlook user). Having the Calendar and next actions in the same app seems far more GTD consistent to me than other apps). The main thing I'd like to be...
Currently in OF you have to place tasks inside of projects, you can't have a single task in a folder for example. Currently i have a project called "Errands" that contain tasks that are single actions tasks, with no direct project attached to them. For me it doesnt really feel right.. Has anyone...
Hello All, I've spent a number of months researching, testing and comparing GTD systems and I've FINALLY come to a conclusion. First, let me explain a little bit about my general profile and needs. I use an Android HTC Desire Z smartphone and a Windows PC. I want a service that is also...
I am looking for a way of capturing voicenotes with my android phone and have the audio file automatically emailed to myself just by using the button on my headset. I have been using google voice actions and it is almost perfect. I can launch it with a long press on the headset, I then create a...
I have multiple gmail addresses. How can I view the @waitingfor for all of them in the left window pane? At the moment I have to click "Show" and "Hide" for each individual email account which is a bit cumbersome.
Hi All, Hope your all enjoying your summer so far. I've been using the GTD system for some time and never ventured beyond the Oulook implmentation I used from day one. I have switched to a BlackBerry device from a Pocket PC and have been able to maintain similar functionality. Its...
I have a few files folders that I keep in my wire rack on my desk. They seem to curl up and buckle up. I have taken everything out of the file folders and kept them under heavy books for many weeks to make them flat but that doesn't help. Would anyone know how to make them flat? Thanks.
For windows (desktop), i'm looking for a simple text app like wordpad. But is able to window itself as "also on top of other windows". I've tried using plugins to allow windowed app to come to the forefront, but those plugins dont work on all apps.
Hey guys I checked this page and the next of this subforum and didn't find a thread on Android. There's a discussion about an Android capture tool going on, but no general Android thread. Hence this thread. I haven't used GTD in 3 years but now that I have an Android phone, I would like to...
I arrived last night in Beijing for a program hosted at the Chinese Academy of Science, so I'm behind the great firewall. Omnifocus and Toodledo appear to sync about as well as in the US, but Things beta fails to sync. I suspect it's because Cultured Code uses some homegrown technology, but that's...
For example: If you have a URL you want to revisit in a week or month. Or more commonly to make sure you only go to your favorite websites only twice a day. The software should allow you to launch them in groups as well. (basically a bookmark folder tickler ) A standalone program to launch them in...
