Due the abundance of information out there about "Getting Things Done" (GTD), David & Co. has responded with a web page that provides an official definition of this term: http://www.davidco.com/what_is_gtd.php

Throughout the day I find myself running into various pieces of information that I want to read. Emails with links to stories, pdf documents, articles in websites, etc. Sometimes I have the time to read in my computer and sometimes I find printing the material to take it home. Becaue all the...
I have been a longtime Palm user, (starting with US Robotics Palm Professional, then Vx, now I'm using a T3) and the graffiti area on my latest unit is finally beginning to die. Coincidentally, my 3 year old cell phone is also beginning to have some challenges. I am pretty well fully up to...
I may be the only person on the planet still using Panther so I don't know if this is useful to others (Tiger's Address Book has the capability of printing pocket-size). I keep my addresses in the Mac Address Book because I like the interface better than the Desktop Palm Address Book. But Desktop...
I have known this application for quite some time, but never really bought the concept for two main reasons. At first it always looks nice and promising (Minority Report effect?), although I could never stop thinking that it was a fine solution for a not-so-well-defined problem (do I really need a...
I have been using GTD for about 6 months with much success, but realize that I need to push my system pretty hard to make it really work for business development and CRM. I find that for project management and the end stages of project development, it is fine; the problem lies with the proactive...
I'm currently synching Outlook on my home and tablet computers through Yahoo mail's free sync program (I sync my home and work computers through my Sony Clie). It's effective, but not quite as configurable as I would prefer. Does anyone use another type of software or have any other solution that...
Accd to how I read Mr Allen's book, he sounds like he thinks its easier if you go ahead and choose your tools and imput GTD right from the beginning into them. He does also say, however, that if you haven't yet chosen your tools that you can start with pen and paper and move into your tools later....
Hi all, I was just wondering if someone has a good list of the various productiviy blogs and websites out there (assuming of course that the term "productivity blog" isn't an oxymoron ;-) ). I look at lifehack.org, lifehacker.com, and 43folders.com. What else is out there? Thanks,...
I use a Mac Powerbook G4 with OS 10.3.9 (Panther). I currently use a three ring binder for my GTD lists - and it's working well for me. I am currently using Entourage for my calendar, and Mail (came with Mac) for e-mail. I have no addresses on my computer yet. I would like to use one...
I just got the BB 7510 thru Nextel. I upgraded to BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.0.0.202 at https://www.blackberry.com/SoftwareDownload/indexProcess.jsp And, voila, categories are there for tasks, notes & calendar. Cool! Only problem for now for me:
A couple of macros I use to create a new next action in the same project and subproject (new release of Netcentric GTD toolkit).... Function GetProjectName() As String Dim itmTask As Outlook.TaskItem Dim objProperty As UserProperty Dim projectName As String Dim i As...
Haven't seen a recent post on this, so I'm mentinoning -- I just discovered Bloglines. It's brilliant -- but I haven't yet decided if it will SAVE me time by condensing my web-surfing or WASTE time by giving me a new ctral hub from which to spin crazily out into the cybersphere.
Hello All, My name is Charles Caldwell, and I am a long time GTD'er (about 7 years now). I am currently working on my MBA at The George Washington University while also working full time as a Data Warehousing Manager. I am currently working on a project for my program in which we are...
Hi everyone. I have used Palm devices since 1998, but I am a GTD newbie. Here is my question: Using the built-in To Do application in GTD, how do you show which Next Actions are connected to which Projects? Right now, all of my To Do categories are named according to context (@Home, @Desk,...
Using the GTD plugin, when I try to assign an action to a new email - the 'someday' option is missing from my list. But it's still in the master list and when I edit other tasks, it's still there. I've done the task update option, but still the problem continues. Any ideas? Thanks.
Are there any web aps such as <a href="http://www.k5n.us/webcalendar.php">Web Calendar</a> or <a href="http://www.rememberthemilk.com">Remember The Milk</a> that can be used to have GTD on computer or at mobile phone when you not be in front of computer? I think I do not need a PDa because I have...
major advance here for GTD oriented Mac/Palm users, missing sync 5.01 now has the ability with the push of a single sync button: 1) sync palm categories with individual ical calendars, both todos and events. 2) sync palm memo categories and address categories. 3) sync contents of folders...
I am office-bound all the time. But this week I needed to get involved to move the contents of one warehouse into another. I spent three days lifting and moving heavy materials. I had my Blackberry clipped to my belt. First it fell off my belt onto the concrete and into a muddy puddle. Then it fell...
Just read the article on Windows/Outlook shortcut keys and it's great, but it misses out one I use frequently, which is Alt+k to check email addresses. If there's any ambiguity in the address you get a dialog with a list of possibles to choose from, otherwise the address just gets completed.
