Can't agree more with Barb. I used to "load up" as many of my next actions as possible in my Projects. It become unwieldy. It's amazing how, now, I can do minimum advance planning and just flow...
Office for Mac is not Office for PC, trust me. Outlook for Mac is no where's near as powerful as its PC brother, esp. in task management. The program is weak, weak, weak and you should definitely...
So many of us were hanging around HOPING that Cultured Code would pull it all together and deliver on cloud sync plus, plus, plus. I hated having to move away but I had no choice as I needed all...
I've been using www.getflow.com for a while while I see what's going to happen to Things by Culture Code. Google Tasks is attractive to me because I use Google Calendar, Docs, and Contacts. A...
mcogilvie,
To each his own. No sense of loss or limitation for me at all using Flow. And the sync is great. Much better than Things and its glacial pace of development and obvious limitations.
I use Google Calendar for my schedule, www.getflow.com for my lists with it all synced to my iphone. Works well except when I'm in the mountains and I have no internet connection or cellular...
I would love to use Google Tasks but they are just too "lite" for effective GTD use (at least by me!).
Still using www.getflow.com. The app has come a long way since April. Check it out again and see for yourself!
I've been using Things for quite a while but I'm trying Flow (www.getflow.com) for a month to see if it will work for me. So far, so good!
I once use Pocket PC's exclusively for my GTD implementation. But phones arrived, Win Mo didn't keep up with the competition, and I moved on. But I certainly loved the PPC when it was in its heyday!
I posted a while back about this sort of things with my boss. I kept plugging away at implementing black belt GTD and he noted that I was one of two people he could completely trust to get work done...
I have an A5 Finsbury and a Personal Classic Filofax. I like the Classic the best because of the smaller footprint.
Glad you found it!
I used to believe that I could only have 1 next action per project. But the members here were very helpful to instruct me on a better practice and I have not looked back. I now have multiple...
I process regularly and try not to leave the office each day without processing my Inbasket to zero. And the day before my Weekly Review, I process it to zero so I don't have to spend time dealing...
Are you using paper or a digital list manager?
Mission critical items I add to my lists or calendar. My agenda lists work best for those regularly schedule meetings I have with key partners.
I've always kept my lists in one system so that I don't get things too scattered but you could give it a try and see what happens... :D
During my yearly review, I added a few things related to my 50,000 ft. Horizons of Focus. But I did not create a list of New Year's resolutions.
I enjoy plugging in "Ready for Anything" while I travel by car. I've got Disk 3 in my CD player now. Great way to stay in touch with the reasons why we GTD.
