EMarkM---how do you get lists and tasks etc in a "pocket" Filofax? They are so small! You really can run your system out of something that small? I can see, maybe, just maybe, doing it out of a...
I hate to say it but I think you have a point. In my life, there are so many things that I hv to block out 2 to 4 hours for and I have tried getting around it with GTD, but I never have. Work is work.
I agree with you. I have returned to a really bare bones paper based "gtd" system...and couldn't be happier. I have gone from 0 to 100 and now back to about 25.
I did the most astonishing thing this morning: I cleaned up my desk. Filled out all sorts of forms that have been sitting around, made much needed phone calls, paid some bills, dug around in my...
Validate, dude, aren't you the same guy who is my hero and wrote a few weeks ago about how GTD helped you move and start dream life?! I really looked over your system, found it amazing, and so...
I use it with a Treo and Mac/leopard and it's fine.
Show us the system....asap. Love to see ppl's systems. Fascinates me.
...as a leftie, you use a spiral notebook and write BACK TO FRONT. Works great.
Seems a strange request to me. First of all, why? You like your electronic set up so why mess with it? And David in his book and online talks extensively about how to set up a paper system. And...
Validate, I love to hear stories like this and I think we could all use to hear more. Question: What tools did you use? Like did you use electronic or paper or a combo or a notebook and a calendar on...
I may be the odd man out with you but I get to feeling pretty fragmented doing pure GTD and miss doing my most imp things--to me, the most imp things anyway. I do think that between your big pushes,...
I say put the next action on your Project list and put it like this: Get out Project Z File and work on Project Z for 4 hours, or until I am totally burned out or it's done. How's that?
I ordered one too and was feeling like a dork until I saw that Robert ordered one. R, what is RTFM? I have to see this thing even if I am paying $15 in postage. It sounds like a sort of uber capture....
Hi, Where is the newspaper article talking about GTD and the Daybook? I would like to read it. Thanks, Trish
I love your picture but am wondering where you calendar is? And do you do pure GTD or do you "plan" your day?
Trish
Dear ggoldman,
Do you carry the 3 ring binder with you then? Or just take pages out of it, or what? Your system sounds simple and smart to me. I assume there is a calendar in there too. Trish
Hi Claudia,
If you are sustaining a set of tools for 4 to 6 weeks, you are doing better than I am. I make it a week to 10 days at best. Arrrrrghhhh.
Hi Claudia,
Not even close to being as big a techie as Todd, I am stuck like you---I have a Mac, iCal, a Treo----so far so good----but soon go numb to the lists, and then go to my Franklin week to a...
I like the way you have set up your system! But is it kind of large to carry around? Other than that, I think it sounds just great.
Trish:-P
Okay, forget my question. I already hate the thing---Life Balance. I am fine with what i have.
