I use my emails as action(s) reminders because I find it quicker to define the actions upon email re-read than to diligently convert them to actions in my main list manager (OmniFocus on the iPad).

I currently use a nested @Online context, namely:
@Online
@Web browser
etc.
The iPad has now pretty much taken over as my primary GTD tool.
OmniFocus for my list manager (areas of focus, projects and next actions, plus checklists and the like)
Dropbox and Evernote...
I agree with mthar1. Having to think about what something is and what the projects/next-actions arising are (not to mention which areas of focus etc. they fall under) is seldom a trivial activity....
What I didn't note was that the Horizons of Focus model seems to have a time component to it, and maybe this is the key.
So "increase sales" as a general goal would sit at 30,000 ft, but "increase...
"Increase our sales" sounds like a 30,000 ft (goals and objectives) item to me. It seems to fit the definitions:
* What do I/we want and need to accomplish within the next 12-24 months to make the...
And don't forget us folks in Tassie!
There's plenty of us here who are very familiar with GTD and its profound benefits. While folks are certainly making inroads into using GTD, I'm not aware yet...
Omnifocus is a flexible tool that allows you to keep track of your commitments in a variety of ways.
I think the key point when implementing your GTD system is to make a firm delineation in your...
I use Callpod Keeper - http://www.callpod.com/products/keeper
Runs on Mac, Windows or Linux, with apps for iPhone, Android and others so you keep synced while on the move.

Quite the carbon footprint here! ;-)
A whole new topic perhaps...
:-)
That sounds fair enough; duplication of effort isn't a good idea. Barring unnecessary tasks, however, I would say that the amount of things you have to get done (aka. the things you've committed to)...
Funnily enough I had this epiphany yesterday too (I'm a bit slow at times): a dated next action is the same as an all-day calendar event.
In David-Allen-speak, these are called "day-specific...
Two questions jump out at me here.
Is the inertia due to:
1. Not having hit upon a decent system yet?
2. Some underlying 'story' as why you can't keep going?
If it's (1), then I think it's...
I agree with Don's approaches of clarifying both the email subject and who you are asking to do what. Some folks get hundreds of emails a day, so I think you are most likely to get your message...
The text-book definitions here are:
Project - Any desired result that requires more than one action step...if one step won't complete something, some kind of stake needs to be placed in the ground...
Thanks for all the replies. It's been interesting seeing the various solutions that people have come up with.
As an update, I've now taken a left turn and migrated completely to Omnifocus on both...
I just went through this myself, and found I also had to work within the constraints of where the operating system likes to default some of its business.
The main approach I settled with was:

I came up against this question too, so will pass on how I've approached it.
Strictly speaking this is an Area of Focus, aka a job responsibility. However, I think this could work in your GTD...
Thanks Mike, I look forward to hearing what you find out.
mcogilvie - I checked out the Toodledo website before and it has the follwing to say:

G'day folks,
I've scoured this forum, the iTunes App Store and the rest of the web and can't find a definitive answer to the question:
Can I sync Outlook 2007 Contacts, Calendar, Tasks (with...
