Having in the past suffered occasional data loss or sync problems or hardware failure, I added this to my weekly review checklists:

Print out my lists and store in project support materials. Recycle the old when I put in the new.

I like this idea, as another paranoid backup person I'm already doing offsite backups but it might take a few days to get them back and get running again. I think I may adopt your method as well, thanks for sharing.
