Default Thinking of using the Netcentrics GTD Outlook Add-in with iCloud?

    Hey everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that if you are using the GTD Outlook Add-in and you're thinking of putting your Outlook in the iCloud, please read this first:

    https://gtdsupport.netcentrics.com/s...View.php?id=82

    Summary
GTD Outlook Add-In is not compatible with iCloud service

    Problem

GTD is not compatible with the iCloud service; iCloud does not support Outlook’s ‘user-defined’ field function, which GTD needs in order to assign project/subproject/action to Outlook items processed by GTD.

There's no special/local database for GTD. The GTD data is embedded in the Outlook data itself - in the form of additional folder/items, per-item data is kept in user-defined fields added to processed items. During process, GTD creates tasks & appointments in the standard ‘Tasks’ & ‘Calendar’ folders in the default mailbox for the profile.

    Resolution

If you add the iCloud service to an existing Outlook profile, DO NOT allow it to import items from other mailboxes to the iCloud mailbox; this will strip GTD-processed items of the data in the GTD ‘user-defined’ fields when they are moved; this undoes your GTD data & cannot be recovered from.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email customerservice@davidco.com.

    Thank you!
