    Default a red file folder

Anything I need a BIG reward in order to do goes into the Motivational Milkshake file.
I dont' use it all the time, but I put it in the front of my drawer when I need extra fire power. If I know it is going to be a painful phone call, or a follow up letter I do NOT want to write, it goes there. When the project is completed, I take my assistant out to a classic dinner and we have a milkshake. Usually I can get her to commit to something she is avoiding. We put it on the calendar together beforehand and we share the victory slurps on the planned day.

    Default Please ban John81

I needed to see several posts from 'John81' before I realized that this is just a computer program that is (not very successfuly) mimicking forum posts in order to include promotional links at the end. Could someone please stop that?

There's a little triangle at the lower left under each post. Click the triangle under
a spam post to report it. I just reported one of the John81 posts. I'm not sure if
it's necessary to report all the posts by the same user -- maybe the moderators will figure that out.

I get up very early in the morning and see and report this stuff right away. As I type this, it's only 7 a.m. in Davidco land. They'll deal with it soon.

    Default Spam update

    Hi All,

Here's a quick spam update, then this thread can get back to its original topic.

Thank you for helping us keep the forum free of spam. Your participation makes a big difference, and is the primary reason why this forum has such a great reputation.

By now you'll see that all of John81's posts have been deleted. I have also banned that user, to prevent future posts. This is our standard practice with obvious, intentional spam.

We have several forum moderators who help keep the spam out. We read all of the new posts, checking the forum frequently. On weekends spam may stay for a little longer, and may not get deleted until Monday morning. Often it gets handled even on the weekend, as you can tell from this Sunday post. I like to clear spam out right away when it shows up, so you don't have to sift through it.

Again, thanks for your assistance with keeping this forum productive.

    Best,
    John

    Default My red file folder

Thanks for the spam removal - this forum is one of the best I've seen for quickly getting rid of it!

I keep a red folder in my desk drawer, in front of my tickler file. I keep the support material for waiting-fors in there. For example, if I make a phone call and have to leave a message, I will put the supporting info in the red file. When I get a return phone call, I can quickly grab the info while we're saying hello and I'm prepared.
