Thanks for your input. I have been using Zotero as a reference system (mainly because is free) but is somewhat cumbersome to work with.

I use Zotero on macs with the newish native mac client and the Safari web extension for Zotero for grabbing papers. I find it works very well, so you might want to see if there are updates you can use.
