I totally agree. At the risk of a little gratuitous self-promotion, I just did a "Slice of GTD Life" with Kelly, and that's exactly what I gave as my "advice to newbies"... If more people focused on really internalising the thought process, they'd really be ahead of the game - but I understand that's not as sexy as playing with software and other implementation tools!!
