Default Native iPhone apps vs third party apps... experience?

Hello everyone! I've been using GTD for several years now but am new to the forum. I had been using Palm/MS-Outlook software for some time. I switched over to iPhone back in January 2011 and I love the iPhone.

I've been using Pocket Informant (PI) as my primary system, linking with MS-Outlook at home. The down side is that I cannot (easily) sync with MS-Outlook at work because it seems PI wants it done via wireless--which my company doesn't allow.

I've noticed that the native Apple apps for calendar, reminder, notes, etc. seem to have been improved (the reminder app didn't even exist, which is why I ended up with PI).

I'm finding that the more they "improve" PI, the more cumbersome it becomes and the less fluid it is with MS-Outlook. I tend to work best with keyboard and not "thumb-type" so I still do most planning and weekly reviews by PC.

What is everyone's experience with using the native iPhone apps such as calendar/Reminder/etc?

I am also an Outlook user and use the app TaskTask to view my outlook tasks and Onenote for reference items. I do most of my processing at my computer but find that having easy access to review and add to my list from my phone is crucial.

Calendar is fine, Reminders could be a bit better, Contacts and Notes are ok.

Calendar is the only native app I really use for GTD stuff. Mail when traveling but nothing else.
