Default Hard time reading the book -- any practical guides?

Lately I have been trying to read the book Getting Things Done. I'm not much a reader of books but I am interested in GTD. I'm really having a hard time to read the book. Also I don't really have an image how I could implement these strategies for myself as a student. Do you guys have any practical guides which can help me out?

    Hi there,

Did you get through at least part one of the book? I would say that's key. If not that whole part, how about chapter 2? That will give you an excellent overview of the GTD methodology. So would the Keys to Getting Things Done webinar, which you can access through the two-week free guest pass to GTD Connect.

Then, once you've read at least chapter 2 or watched the Keys webinar, I would recommend getting either a GTD Setup Guide (if we have one for the tool you expect to use to manage projects & actions) and/or the GTD Implementation Guide. You'll find those all here: https://secure.davidco.com/store/cat...-p-1-c-263.php

    Hope that helps!

I'd really recommend listening to the free podcasts that are available on davidco.com. The other option might be to try to get hold of an audio version of the book if you find reading isn't your preferred way of absorbing information. Some libraries loan out audio books so you may not need to buy it...
I hope that this might be helpful.

I second this comment. I can really recommend the audio books. I think the inspiring voice of David Allen, all the jokes, all the way he illustrates the stress and frustration we all feel, is really necessary for getting the message through. I bought one through iTunes that I didn't like as much as another one I have that seems to be a recording from a live appearance. The studio version is not so inspiring as the live one. There are also videos on YouTube that are pretty good. No, I wouldn't attempt reading this stuff either.
