Actually in the paid version, for each of the 8 destination buttons you can specify whether you want EITHER the recognized text (from Google's Voice to Text engine) OR the audio file sent.

Further, when there is no internet connection, the app will record the audio file and queue it for later delivery when a connection is again available. However, this will not queue it for subsequent voice-to-text, just send the attached audio file.

This app is the best I have seen so far. The siri-like voice interaction is great for taking the notes with just the button on the headset. As a side note, in Jelly Bean, google voice has control over a long press of the headset and that can't easily be changed. However, I have assigned a double click to Voicenote using "headsetbutton controller"

Just one thing - why doesn't Voicenote have a feature to send both transcription and audio file at the same time? I would really like to see this feature.

Also, I can't see a widget for this app which would be another improvement.

Update:
The confirmation time out is set to 5 seconds by default - the trouble is this is the time from when the recording is read back. If you have a long recording it gets cut off. A short recording has a delay after it. Only a minor thing, but it would be nice if the delay could be set from the end of the confirmation.

There are a few errors in transcribing when talking into the phone, however, when using a headset it is much more accurate

Update: Voicememo has developed a fault - it says email sent successfully, but no emails are sent. Have tried reboot but no luck yet. Now waiting for some tech support.
