I don't know if this will work or not , but If you are using windows xp, I would suggest trying the 'inactive icons' feature. Right-click on the task bar, select 'properties', make sure the 'Hide inactive icons' box on the taskbar tab is checked. Click the customize button. Scroll through the list until you find the outlook icon that you want to 'disapear'. Change the selection from 'hide when inactive' to 'always hide'. This should at least make it 'out of sight, out of mind'.
