Circa users: having any problems with the pages coming out?

Of course I do realize that is the point. I just feel like the pages (not the cover) come out too easily when I don't intend them to.

So far, I only have the starter kit. And I'm really lemming the cloth-like covered ones. But before I dig in and get the whole thing, including the puncher, I want to make sure it won't go the way of so many other lemmings in the graveyard of my productivity quest.

Any opinions??

I've been using Circa for a while in different sizes. I have never had a page come out before I pulled it out. For doing your own pages, I recommend that you use the blank pages that you can get from Levenger. Normal paper is a little flimsy and does not hold as well.

I have not had any issues with pages coming out. As with the previous reply - I think you will have better luck with the heavier weight pages from Levenger.

If you try to put too many sheets in the rings, they will pop out at times. Also, I've never had great luck with regular paper. Much better, although kind of expensive, to buy the Levenger heavy-weight paper.

If you get the hole punch, go ahead and spring for the heavy duty model and don't waste time with the "travel" size. Although it works well, it's harder to use by far.

I've had a better experience with a heavier weight paper as well. I use a 28 lb. which is heavier than Levengers, but at a fraction of the cost. Anything less than 24 lb. (i.e. regular copy paper) made it difficult to turn the pages.

I was using the paper that came from them since I only had the starter pack and didn't have the puncher yet.

Here is what I think the problem may have been:
I used the capability to wrap around the front cover so it wouldn't be sitting open like a book and would take less space. Does this make sense? So then the pages on the other side,now underside, which were sitting on my lap, were the ones to come out.

I may have to accept that it can't be used that way and really needs to sit open.

I have the sample Circa notebook that came with the PDA Docking Station, and I can rotate/wrap the cover to the back, and no pages pop out.

I am taking a guess here, but I suspect that your Circa may be overfilled. If it is too thick, I could see pages easily popping out. If you remove a dozen pages or so, does the problem persist?

If it does, you may need to keep your Circa thinner, or you might need to invest in some larger Circa Discs.

I have the same problem.

Best solutions I have found:

- Don't fold over the pages unless you are working on a completely flat surface.
- Use Levenger paper.
- Use Levenger perforation reinforcements on important "reference" pages.
- Use Levenger plastic dividers
- Don't over-fill notesbooks and/or jump up a ring size
- Use smaller sizes (Jr. & Compact) for notebooks that are used in akward places (airplane seats with fold-down trays), so that they can be used without folding the notebook back on itself
- Use Levenger Notabilia notebooks for outdoors / windy use (realizing that you will need to photocopy and punch the photocopies to get them into Circa notebooks.

I suppose you could also use a Circa notebook, folded back on itself, clipped to a clipboard.

Are these steps too much hassle? Maybe, but the advantages of the Circa notebooks, to me, still make them a better choice for me than spiral notebooks. Again, I augment use of the letter-sized Circa notebooks with smaller sizes and with Notabilia notebooks.
