Recently i've found myself stuck with over 43 projects in my project list-by my definition a project is a process that has more than one activity to complete it.
The problem was I got stuck like the millipede who didnt know which leg to move first. I did a lot of 'soul' searching, reading 'making it happen' and although it doesnt say alot it did alot for me to answer my own question. I used the horizon of focus to get perspective- in particular I used the area of focus to elevate my view. This was a breath of fresh air because at that level I had already done a risk assessment matrix for 6 areas that are important to my section at work. These areas generate my projects and next actions. And they are arranged in order of 1,maintaining value and adding resources if need be 2,retaining value where possible and streamlining and 3, attribute less resources. This somewhat removed the indecison and allow me to subconsciously act on areas that require level 1 attention.
I am wondering if the four quadrant of importance and urgency would fit at 20,000feet ie. area of focus....any ideas? Have any of you been in this situation? How did you approach it?
