Default Cool Capture Tool for iPhone/iTouch users

Anyone used all-in-notes for the iPhone or iTouch? If not, I recommend you try it. You can take notes using text, voice or even pictures all in one location.

Other than paper, which is always a great capture tool, I've found that all-in-notes is great for when I'm walking and want to take a picture and add a quick voice note rather than try and describe it well in word form.

Seems very similar to Evernote, but missing two key things:

1 - Evernote's OCR tagging. If you take a picture, Evernote will scan it and make all of the text in the photo searchable. This is excellent for notes, receipts, business cards, etc, because you can search ANY text from the photo and find it.

2 - Evernote syncs to your PC, Mac or the web. While I love to capture using the iPhone when I'm out of the office, I'd hate to have to read everything on it when I'm sitting at my desk. This also provides a nice back-up for all of your info.

Plus, Evernote is free! Am I missing something with all-in-notes?

Evernote is addictive. Got it on my Mac, Winders machine, and iPhone. Plus in the cloud. Any iPhone users out there owe it to themselves to give Evernote a try.

Evernote user here too. In fact, for one brief 24 hour period, I actually abandoned Things altogether and called Evernote my only GTD system. Went back to Things, though, as EN hasn't quite got the structure I need for GTD, but it IS an excellent partner for storing extra information, particularly for capturing visual and audio stuff instantly.

I've had a few different versions of it on Mac and iPhone, and have this evening d/loaded the latest iPhone update for it.

It's had good and bad spots: the syncing can be problematic, usually because of slow internet connections on the handheld device, and because it relies on the cloud completely, it can be almost unusable if you have no internet connection at a particular location.

The benefits outweigh the problems, and they're working on the known issues on all formats.

Default Hmm... Evernote may be the better option....

... I just haven't tried it as I hadn't set up an email accounts on my iPhone and it's the very first thing you're prompted for. I'll give it a whirl - thanks!

    Hi,

What do you miss about EN for the purpose of GTD? I use EN exclusively and don't miss a thing. It is perfect for me.

Wrote about my setup on my blog.
